RIVER CABAAN

Our gung-ho DIY clients Karie and Lee had already built a fantastic first phase of the wooded oasis at their Wilson River property and they asked us to help them with the expansion. They’ve given the 1970’s cabin a super stylish, warm and modern facelift so we decided to run with the aesthetic for our drawings and plan. 

The design, which will include an enlarged gravel patio surrounded by meadow grasses, a sauna tucked into native woodland plantings and a boardwalk though the forest to an elevated camping platform, will have a soft, not too formal, wildly inviting feel.

We’ve added in some perfectly placed boulders, a few foot bridges down to the river, an outdoor shower and privacy gates and evergreen screening so that while the property feels more secluded from the outside, Karie, Lee and their family will have easier access to all corners of the property and amenities. This space will invite exploration, epic spa sessions and lots of rock-perching by the camp fire.
